Japanese Cuisine inside ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel Kumamoto New Sky. It is only open for lunch on Saturdays and Sundays. I visited for kaiseki purposes, but when I saw Conger eel, I ordered it. After waiting for about 20 minutes, the conger eel that came out was quite large. Since it was a menu photo, I thought it would be a little oversized due to the angle of view, but I was surprised at how much it looked. However, what surprised me more than the size was the taste. Anyway, the sauce is sweet, sweet, sweet. And since it was cheap at a hotel at 2,100 yen, the meat was limp, probably because it was frozen, and there was no flavor of conger eel at all. The eel tasted just like the sauce, and it reminded me of the poor quality eel at a chain Gyudon (Beef bowl) restaurant. I quickly gave up on eating it normally and switched to hitsumabushi, but the harshness of the sauce still destroyed everything. It was all the more disappointing because the dashi soup for hitsumabushi was delicious. I reluctantly gave up on finishing the meal and left the restaurant with a gloomy feeling.
