This was my first time riding the Kyushu Shinkansen, which I rarely have the opportunity to ride.The foreign language announcements on the Tokaido Shinkansen, which I often ride, are in English, but the Kyushu Shinkansen is broadcast in Japanese, Chinese, and Korean. It felt refreshing even though I didn't speak English. The degree of foreign influence is fundamentally different from that of ``Tokyo = Yokohama = Nagoya = Osaka = Kobe,'' and the recent improvement in China's economic power may have helped create a situation in which Chinese people flocked to Japan in droves. (Currently, the number has decreased significantly due to the coronavirus pandemic...) If you go back in history, there was a long time when foreign countries meant "China" and "South Korea," and Kyushu was the area where the influence was the most profound. Of course, this has also had a major impact on food culture. This time, I ate Kumamoto's Local Cuisine at this restaurant, and while I was thinking about this, I enjoyed the delicious horse meat dish.
