It was my first trip to Kumamoto, and I was looking for my favorite mustard lotus root and horse sashimi, so I made a reservation and visited this place, which seemed like a place where I could enjoy Kumamoto's specialties even if I was traveling alone. I visited the reservation time at 7pm, and the store was already buzzing with excitement. It's a popular restaurant with a group of 12 people! I'm glad I made a reservation! As mentioned above, the mini-course starts at 3,300 yen, which even one person can enjoy. In addition to the mustard lotus root, it also comes with assorted horse sashimi and even a seared Amakusa Daio king. If it's your first time in Kumamoto, you'll be drooling. A protruding kamaboko? That's awesome. If it were a single item, I would order it. Next was the horse sashimi platter. This luxurious portion alone will cost about 3,000 yen! Is that ok? The tataki probably makes good use of the offcuts from the sashimi, but it also goes well with beer. The horse sashimi was also delicious, especially the upper horse sashimi, which was the best horse sashimi I've ever eaten. I groan, you bastard. Needless to say, I switched to Kumamoto shochu, enjoyed horse sashimi, and had a blissful time eating mustard lotus root (my long-cherished desire). And Amakusa Daioh's Tataki. This also has a strong chicken flavor and is delicious. I wanted to enjoy Kumamoto a little more, so I ordered a set of two of the famous tiger prawns. When I asked the owner, he told me that he would offer one dance and one grilled with salt, so I could enjoy both raw and grilled. Personally, I preferred the salt-grilled shrimp because I could feel the flavor and sweetness of the shrimp. Two beers and two shochu totaled over 8,000 yen. I'm very satisfied.
