最近の私の食べログレビューは、他人様からの頂き物で成り立っている。有難いことです。そして今回も、GW開けにいただいた熊本土産「黒糖ドーナッツ棒」のお話。
こちらのお店、元々は"かりんとう"が主力。"今までにないお菓子を開発したい"ということで作られたのが「黒糖ドーナッツ棒」です。見た目は"ちんすこう"とか"黒パン"みたいですが、食べてみると、黒糖の香り漂う、中がしっとりとした揚げ菓子です。思った程、油っこくもありません。駄菓子っぽい雰囲気ではありますが、決して"駄"ではありません。丁寧に作られたという印象を受けます。見た目は"ちんすこう"でも、そうですね、ドーナッツと呼ぶのが正解です。"和製ドーナッツ、ここに在り"と言った感じでしょうか。今では熊本を代表するお菓子です。
