Environmental and social initiatives
Reducing Food Waste
As part of the SDGs that Miyako Hotel Kyoto Hachijo aims to achieve, "#TaberuMeguruHotel" operates a "compost" system for the purpose of food circulation. By composting some of the vegetable scraps from the hotel kitchen and providing herbs and edible flowers grown in the soil at the Restaurants, we have created a service that aims to create a recycling-oriented society, albeit on a small scale. We aim to become an environmentally friendly hotel step by step. This initiative ``#TaberuMeguruHotel'' is a collaboration with Kyoto Prefectural Agricultural High School.
Using Sustainable Ingredients
``Edible Flower Jelly Cake SUMIRE'' Violas are colorful edible flowers grown without pesticides using compost so you can enjoy them with peace of mind. The hotel's pastry chef, in collaboration with the students of Kyoto Prefectural Agricultural High School, sells jewelry-like Sweets encased in sparkling and gorgeous jelly. (Winter-Spring only)

Choose as much as you like from the half buffet with approximately 20 types of hors d'oeuvres, salads, soups, breads, fruits, and Sweets! For the main dish, choose your favorite from 5 different monthly dishes! It also includes a wagon-service dessert that our staff will prepare right in front of you, for just ¥3,800 per person! ! Even on weekends, the prices remain the same and are full of great deals! Another great thing is that you can relax from 11:30 to 14:30 (LO 14:15)!

At our restaurant, we have approximately 30 to 40 types of wines to match the dishes. We stock red wine, white wine, sparkling wine, and champagne according to the season. We have a sommelier on staff who will suggest the perfect drink to accompany your meal. There are also plenty of gorgeous cocktails. In addition, we offer a wide range of coffee, tea, beer, and sake.
