戦後間もない昭和23年
食料もままならない時代に空腹が満たされる食べ物として
初代店主が京都下町（現下京区）にて考案！！
食べた人々がその美味しさから
ウ～うまい！ウ～うまい！と唸りをあげてくださったことから
当時流行っていたラテンミュージックの
ウ～マンボと
その焼き上がりのボリューム感か巨大魚
マンボウに似ていることとを掛け合わせて
まんぼ焼きと命名いたしました。
と記載されてました。
偶然の名目が令和へと続く老舗の名称の秘話も
お食事への楽しみとつながっているようです。
