Owner Harada, who has been in the kitchen for many years at [Ryouriya Otabiya], which has been featured in a certain gourmet guidebook for eight consecutive years, has opened [Ryouriya Toki] along the Takase River in Takatsuji, Nishikiyamachi, inheriting the same tradition. This is a cozy Kyoto-style restaurant in a wonderful location along the Takase River. The restaurant is small, but there is a magnificent okudosan (stove) over the counter, and the Takase River flowing through Kiyamachi can be seen from the window inside the restaurant, which gives it a Kyoto-like atmosphere and makes for a comfortable space. There is also a private room in the back. I sat at the counter where I could see the okudosan. In the kitchen, it is a special seat where you can see the efficient and careful work of the chefs, who work in perfect harmony. The chef also provides excellent service while maintaining a moderate distance from the customers. All of the dishes use many seasonal ingredients, and are delicately seasoned to bring out the best in each ingredient, making them very delicious. For this quality and price, it was an overwhelming value and I was very satisfied. I also recommend the heshiko sauce as a souvenir.
