烏丸御池に近いこの辺りは、学生など若者向けでなく、OLやサラリーマン向けの飲食店が多いです。
その意味で、こちらのバーのターゲット、コンセプトは間違っていないとは思います。
ただし、私たち50歳近いおっさんからすると、正直言って、中途半端。
高級感？
いや、失礼ながら、安っぽく感じます。
なんちゃって感が漂います。
ホテル・バーを利用する人ならば、あるいは、たとえば「雪月花」や「KUGEL」を知る人なら、こちらの店をラグジュアリーとか大人の空間とか感じるでしょうか？
品揃えは、ほぼ最低限のものに感じます。
これでカクテルが期待できるなら、というところなのですが、カクテルは凡庸。
モルトに関しても、2～3本、気になるボトラーズがある他は特筆するものは……。
ドリンクで目当てとなるのものがないならば、こちらに足を向かわせるものは何なのだろう？
チャージ無し(サービス料10％)でショットがリーズナブルというのも、私がバーを選ぶ際には、むしろマイナスなんですよね。
何度も言ってますが、しっかりチャージを取って、それに相当するサービスを提供するバーが好きです。
ま、ただ、これは個人の嗜好としか言いようがありません。
店長をはじめ、スタッフは皆若いです。
接客に関しては、礼儀正しく、馴れ馴れしさはなく、よそよそしいわけでもなく、まずまず。
ソファ席がカウンター席から離れている点で、ソファ席をあまり意識しなくていいのは助かります。
あと、本格バーというなら、正装をした方が良いのでは、と思います。
バーとしてのレベルを保ちながら、できるだけ敷居を低くしようというのでしょうが、果たして？
京都駅前(七条)、西院にも系列店がありますが、同様のコンセプトのようです。
