古い日本家屋の小ぶりな門を潜り抜け、手入れの行き届いた中庭を進み店内へ。モダンな内装に改装された店内はシックでありながら、どこか和やかで、カジュアルを許容してくれる肩肘張らない素敵な空間です。
フランス人のシェフが地元の食材を使った料理で、素材の味も香りもしっかりと主張する押しの強さを感じました。決して嫌味な強さではなく、和のテイストを感じさせつつ、器も含めてここが京都であることを感じさせてくれる演出なのかと感じました。
ドリンクはシャンパンとメルローの赤ワインをチョイス。ワインリストはとても充実しており、次回来店を促される想いでありましたが。
18時開店の10分前に入店したところ、のれんが出るまで待って欲しいとのこと。待つのは構わないんだけど、椅子が用意されるけでもなく「一旦外へ出ろ」ということのようでした。
