宿に近いこともあって、朝食は相方とこちらへ行ってみることに。現地到着は日曜7:50頃だが、9割の入りで、なんとか入店。壮年女子スタッフの案内で4人テーブルへ。メニューを見て注文したのは、ツナサンドのセット(コーヒー、サラダ付き¥1,150)と、相方は玉子のホットサンドセット(コーヒー付き¥1,050)。客は常連が多く、二条城散歩後に来ている感じ。清潔で明るい店舗だが、昔ながらの雰囲気。スタッフはキビキビ安定感抜群の動きで、推定平均年齢65歳。店内でパンも焼いている。
5分ほどで配膳。見た目通り、期待値通りの、こちらも安定感のある内容。もぐもぐと完食。
京都のモーニング、喫茶文化の一端を垣間見る。ご馳走様でした。
