The opening day |

Perhaps because we were seated in a private room, I didn't feel the significance or necessity of the charcoal grill throughout the meal. The food was consistently delicious. However, while there were some interesting touches, such as the grilled soft-shelled turtle turtle served in a steamed bun, the overall course, which featured high-quality ingredients at this price point, was delicious but not anything more impressive. To be honest, the service was disappointing. I didn't feel the Kyoto spirit of hospitality. There is no need to pander to customers, but I wonder if it's a good idea to just go ahead and do everything so matter-of-factly. There was no sense of service at a comfortable distance, and I ended the meal feeling a bit awkward. Maybe it would have been different if we had sat at the counter.
