The National Treasures Exhibition at the Kyoto National Museum was about to end, so I visited. However, it was very crowded even though it was a weekday. I was completely tired and left early. On my way back to Kawaramachi on foot, I found an Indian Cuisine restaurant. However, it seems to be a chain restaurant scattered around Kyoto, and although the taste and price are both reliable, there is nothing surprising about it. I was looking at the menu at the entrance with a haughty look on my face when I met a local male employee who came out from inside, and he looked so friendly that I couldn't help but go in. To be honest, the inside of the restaurant has no luxury, and it has the atmosphere of a family working together to run a food shop. The tables are very ordinary, covered with vinyl covers. It's not ironic, it's comforting. Looking at the lunch menu, as usual, depending on the price, there is one or two types of curry, chicken tikka or not, tandoori chicken or shish kebab... As usual, I got the B Lunch Set (1,000 yen including tax) which comes with two curries. I couldn't choose the curry, it was the daily special and chicken. When I asked the waiter if I wanted the spiciness to be the hottest, he asked if I was okay, so I changed it to the hottest level without thinking. I feel like I've been so influenced by other people's opinions lately that I've lost my own opinion. A drink was served, so I got a lassi. It didn't take long for the salad to be brought out. This was also shredded cabbage with cucumber, tomato, and orange dressing. I wonder if they were told to make this salad. By the way, this salad seems to be served after the order is placed. I'd like to say it's natural, but some restaurants serve it in advance. Just as I was finishing eating, the food arrived. A large naan, a small rice, two curries, and a chicken tikka. The daily curry was not spicy, and it was made of finely chopped vegetables. I thought it was eggplant, but it was actually sweet potato. It had okra in it, so it was slightly stringy. And a chunk of chicken was submerged. When I tore the naan apart, the edges were crispy, the whole thing was a bit chewy, and it was too hot to hold. The other curry was chicken. This one had a creamy, sticky texture. Apparently it's Nepalese Cuisine, but it feels like European-style butter chicken. This one wasn't spicy enough, and I should have ordered the extra spicy one. The two women next to me also ordered the spiciness reduced, but they still said it wasn't spicy enough. Maybe it's okay to order one level spicier than usual here. The chicken tikka is chicken dyed red. It has a smoky aroma, but the spices are not very strong. Maybe tikka is different from tandoori chicken and is this kind of light. It's past 1pm and all the tables are filled. There are two men in the kitchen and the same man in the dining area. They are working efficiently. There was nothing particularly unusual about it, but I was satisfied with the taste, and the only thing that bothered me was the cigarette smoke. Smoking is allowed throughout the restaurant, so it can't be helped, but please be prepared for that before entering the restaurant.
