京野菜を取り入れたり京町家の店内だったりと味付けや雰囲気に和の要素を取り入れた上品な京風中華料理店。
築100年ほどの総檜の数寄屋造りの町家の店内は、親戚の家に来たかのような安心感のある雰囲気。1階は舟底天井の椅子席、2階は床の間や欄間のある座敷。ミシュランビブグルマンにも選ばれているお店。
メニューは、基本的に辛さを抑えたあっさり目の四川料理中心のラインナップだが、名物は浙江料理である東坡肉(トンポーロー)を、柔らかい蒸しパンのようなマントウに挟んだ東坡バーガー。
東坡肉はとろっとろで、脂身がとろけるほど。味が濃くて重そうな見た目の割には、食べやすい味わい。
角煮と似ているが、豚肉の皮の有無、八角などのスパイスの有無などが異なる。
四川料理メニューの中で人気なのは、坦々麺。
胡麻が香りつつ青唐辛子を中心としたスパイスも適度に感じるスープ。それが具材の挽肉とザーサイと見事にマッチする。辛くはないが、食べ進めているとほんのり汗が滲み出てくる。香りがしっかり立っていて美味しい。
チャーハンは、しっとりめで旨みが強い。セットの卵スープが絶品。卵がたくさん入っていて濃厚な味付けで、高級店の味付けに近い。
メニューには聖護院かぶらや堀川ごぼう、賀茂茄子など、京野菜を使ったメニューも数多く並ぶ。
