この不思議さは、なんなのだろう、と思います。業態は「ワインバー」ですが、私の様な者が気疲れする高級感はありません。かといって、わざと庶民派を装ったような雑然さもありません。ワインと料理の好きな女性が、気の向くままに営まれていることは一目でわかります。住宅街にコソッとあるこちら、その穴場感もこちらのお店の価値を随分アップしております。
出町柳にかかる賀茂大橋、この今出川通を東へ行くと南側には多くの食べ物屋さんが並んでいます。それが切れるあたり、私にとっては多少因縁のある蓮という激辛カレーのバーのある角を南に折れ、路地に入ってすぐにあります。普通の住宅を改装したと見える店舗に、４、５席のカウンター席と小さいテーブル一つ。このスペースを仕切るのは、ほぼ普段着の女性一人です。ママとお呼びすると堅苦しい感じになりますが、明るく色々と奨めて下さる話しやすい方。ワインとお料理好きな方というのは、本当に良くわかります。ホール側のボードに当日のお奨めのおつまみとお料理、紙には定番メニューとワインリスト、カウンター奥のボードには、その日のグラスワインについて表示があります。

アイルランドの名物とのことです。程々の塩加減ですがちょっとクセある風味がワインに良く会います。パンも面白い風味。
○サラダ（５００円）
○ラム肉と豆とほうれん草のヨーグルト煮（１７００円）
オーダー中に唯一食事らしいものです。ラム肉は小さめですが十分に入っていて、独特の味もしっかり。ヨーグルトの酸味と一緒に面白い味に仕上がっています。豆がたっぷりでボリュームがたっぷりなのも嬉しい。
○グラスワイン （７００円前後から）
グラス売りは２、３種類の赤、白のワインが用意されています。抜栓から二日目には割引となるのは、ワイン好きのオーナー様のお気持ちが現れていると思います。
軽く飲みながらの食事をしよう、と言いつつコチラに誘った私ですが、それ以上に興奮したかみさん。お酒はそれほど飲むつもりないのに、ワインに合うおつまみが大好きでアレコレとオーダー。それに釣られて一杯のつもりだったワインを二杯、そして結局三杯飲んでしまいました。一人４０００円弱の会計になりましたが、納得のレベルです。もちろん、これはもっと手軽に済ませることも出来ますし、飲むワインの種類によっても変わるでしょう。庶民的な世界の料理を肴に気軽にワインを、という時にはピッタリのお店、随分前にシャンパン専門のバーのマスターに奨められた通り、気ままにのんびりと過ごせます。
