Japanese-style meal at a popular super public bath. They have a wide variety of Japanese, Western and Chinese cuisine, but I recommend the Japanese food. The soba noodles are pretty good too. The mackerel stewed in miso is also pretty good. I recommend the tonpeiyaki. Take a bath, take a break for a meal, and finish off with another bath. They also have a wide selection of local ciders. - As it's close to Arashiyama, many people use it on their way back from running. - Weekdays, around 7pm. There seems to be a high percentage of Western tourists. The interior has a Japanese feel. - The sauna in the men's bath is quite hot, with warm air coming out periodically. Young staff members will fan you with attractions. - The women's bath also has some baths that aren't available in the men's bath, such as a salt sauna. - The price is for the food only.
