き作り体験 English: Boys' Festival - I had a meal with my family for the first time in a while. Afterwards we went to Housen for snacks. It must have been just when they were changing rooms, as there were no customers (and then a large one). Housen is a very relaxing place. We were shown into a Japanese-style room and each family member ordered what they liked. I had matcha (I'm an amateur and don't know if they like light or strong tea) and warabimochi. The warabimochi here is in a league of its own. The round mochi is bouncy and smooth as it slides down your throat. It's so pleasurable, it feels like your whole mouth is your tongue. It's irresistible. We also bought chimaki, crystal and yokan, which are only available on the 4th and 5th, as well as sweet potato buns, which we had for dessert with dinner. These were also delicious. The yokan chimaki in particular had a great texture, a faint red bean aroma, and a subtle sweetness - also exquisite. I can't wait for next year's Boys' Festival.
