Revisited. As always, this restaurant is polite, humble and likable. We enjoyed the delicious food. Using delicious local and home-grown vegetables, the chef's gentle and careful work and friendly conversation make for a relaxed and enjoyable experience. The sauce for the snapper in particular had a great balance of vinegar and Japanese dashi, and was a perfect match for the steamed turnip. The first mousse was also delicious, with a strong vegetable flavor. The oil accent was also nice. Kikuna mousse Rustic plate (stewed with beets from our own farm and Tajima beef, jelly, Spanish marinade, butterbur fritters, Oita line-caught and smoked curry flavor, sautéed Kyotanabe radish and grilled yam) Winter classic cheese fondue (Tenno burdock, nabana, red carrot, shrimp potato) #Ikkyuji natto powder garnished Nagasaki sea bream, grated turnip, home-grown leek pilaf and Tajima beef French-style Hamburg with Belgian dark beer sauce, ice cream gratin, kumquat and strawberry red wine sauce # Marc Tempé Crémant d'Alsace Le 13 # Roger Goulart 100% Xarel-lo # Poggiotondo Marmoreccia Syrah 2009
