Enjoy freshly caught seafood in a relaxed atmosphere with a Japanese motif.
In a stylish Japanese-modern atmosphere, you can enjoy Japanese-style meal made with fresh seafood and Akashi's local sake. The seafood is sourced from the Akashi City Public Local Wholesale Market vi |
The restaurant is located in Yura Garden, under Fukuchiyama Castle. It's a weekday, and the parking lot is not that crowded, probably because of the effects of COVID-19. You can see the restaurant on the left side of the parking lot. The restaurant is right in front of the parking lot, so it's very easy to find. Once inside, the restaurant is beautiful. There is a counter in the back, and it seems that there are private rooms as well. I looked at the menu outside and saw that the menu had been revised since I last came. I ordered the Vivid Seafood Bowl from there. The food arrived shortly after. This time I ordered a regular portion, so it was quite a generous serving. As the menu name suggests, the dish was vibrant with octopus, squid, salmon, salmon roe, sweet shrimp, white fish, and boiled whitebait. There was a lot of it. I poured the soy sauce provided over it. The shrimp was also delicious and had no odor. The squid, salmon, and salmon roe had an orthodox taste. The boiled whitebait also had a standard taste. This was also a delicious dish. I've reviewed it before, but they apparently order fish from Himeji. This comes with miso soup for 1,980 yen. It's about 20% more expensive than Maizuru or Miyazu. I was actually aiming for the conger eel bowl, but unfortunately it's off the menu. Hmm... what a shame... However, the menu is just so meager. This restaurant is mainly cooked by alumni of Shukutoku Gakuen, who are quite famous locally, having won a Japanese-style meal contest for high school students. They trained in Akashi and opened here. I heard that they source fish from Akashi through connections from that time. It felt like they weren't making the most of that. Atmosphere... Spirit... Isn't the energy that creates delicious food the spirit of the creator? This... I can only imagine how hard it must be to suffer during this time of COVID. Hang in there!
