桑名駅から歩いて１０分ほどの場所に２０１９年４月にオープンした串揚げのお店、桑名駅前の桑栄メイトにあるお店の二号店ということで、以前は名古屋にもお店があってそちらにはお邪魔したことがあるのですが、そちらは残念ながら３月で閉店してしまったということですね。店内はカウンター７席の席数、１７時ころに入りましたがほかにお客さんはいませんでした。
夜のメニューはコースのみ、ストップをかけるまで串揚げが出てくるおまかせコース、串揚げ１０種類に野菜で１８００円のもえぎコース、串揚げ８種類に野菜で１５００円のあかねコースの３種類です。
いただいたのは１５００円のあかねコース、内容はエビのしそ巻きに牛肉、しいたけ、アスパラ 、明太子のささみ巻き、ナス、若鶏、キスの８本、衣はきめ細かくさっくりと心地良い食感、油切れも良くて美味しいですね。タネの中で印象に残ったのをいくつかピックアップすると、まずはナス、コレはさすがの破壊力でしたね、不用意に挑んでしまったところ、中から飛びだすアツアツの汁に見事に玉砕です(笑)
でも甘みがあってジューシーなナスに生姜が入っているのかな、後味がさっぱりして良かったです。そしてキス、コレはふっくらした繊細な味わいの身とタルタルソースが絶妙な相性、文句なしに美味しかったです。
最後は桑名名物の安永餅のフライとお茶をサービスで出していただきフィニッシュ、追加でまだ何本かは入りそうだったのですが、腹八分目にしておきました。
お客さんがワタクシ一人だったということもあるかもですが、ワタクシの食べるスピードに合わせたペース配分も見事なものでしたね。なかなか良かったので、機会があればエンドレスに食べてみたいと思います、ごちそうさまでした。
