仙台駅前、アーケード入ってすぐという凄まじい好立地に位置するお寿司屋さん。当然、人通りも多いなかで、一瞬やってないのか？と思えるほど商売っ気のない店前に少々ビックリ。中に入るとそう広くない店内は、まるで40年前、1980年代の歌舞伎町の雑居ビルにはいっている小料理屋のような雰囲気。小規模回転寿司がほぼ淘汰された現在でコレは貴重なのでは…。
一通り注文。マグロは生っぽいバチ。色濃くネットリな食感ながらマグロらしい味わいは今一つ。とはいえ下手に蓄養本マなどをだされるよりは場の雰囲気にマッチしたマグロかと。この手のマグロは好みの分かれるところ。エビはブラックで甘酢の利いたもの。イカも寿司種シリーズのパック物ではなく自然な美味しさ。下足はスルメ下足をボイルした物が海苔に巻かれて３貫。ツブはロシアツブながら大きいサイズをカットした物で歯ごたえよし。
お店の造作は昔の回転寿司とはいえ、ベテランの大将が握り、回転していないということは、普通のお寿司屋さんと変わらない訳で、ド駅前の立地で均一￥150(込)、２貫(ネタによっては３貫)というのは、かなりリーズナブルかと。そして、何より昭和のままの小じんまりとした店内の雰囲気が、個人的にはとても魅力的に感じられた。
