仙台３日め。
少しずつ街の景色に目が慣れ始めたが、ざっとリサーチしたかぎり、仙台は東京で言うところの町中華が元気な街だなという印象。
無造作に食べログで探すと当然のように上位に牛タンばかりが上がって来るのだが、それはいいとしても毎日牛タンばかり食べて過ごすわけにもいかないし、と思って除外すると、東京に町場の蕎麦屋がひしめいていたのと同じくらい、町場の中華屋が沢山ある。
それはすなわち、あまり深く考えずに行くと中華料理ばっかり食べることになるわけで、それはそれで望むところだが、もう少し定食屋寄りな店の駒も揃えておきたい。
とか何とか言って、実はこの日、目指したのも中華屋だったのだが、辿り着いてみたら施設の点検でランチは休業と無情な貼り紙に玉砕。
仕方ないので来た道を引き返し、こちらのお店へ。
800円くらいで定食がいただけるとあれば、クオリティはさておき何らかの使い道はあるだろうから、この際試しておこうというもの。
しかし、私は初めて見る屋号だけど、東京は蒲田なんかにも同じ屋号のお店があるみたいで。まあ、それはそれ、なんだけどね。
食券方式。入り口で食券を発券。〈しょうが焼き定食〉に〈生卵〉をオン。800円。イイネ。
ごはん大盛りも普通に受けてくれる。待つことしばし。中々肉厚でほどほどに柔らかさを残しながらイイ感じに焼けている。味はもう少し辛くてもいいけど、大量に添えられたマヨネーズをつけていただくとこれが中々に仕事をしてくれるオカズになる。そして脇を固める漬け物的サイドも、ちゃんとアクセントになっている。
感動するようなものではないが、ありふれたものがちゃんとおいしくいただける。そういうお店は案外貴重なので、大事にしたい。しかも仙台は中華屋ばかりでこの手の定食メニューをしっかりと出してくれるお店があまり多くないように見えるので、余計に。
今、ひいきの店を決め打ちするのは時期尚早な気がしているけれど、手駒の一つとして入れておくこととしよう。
