I used to have a habit of having Wednesday as movie day, but from the beginning of last year to the end of last year I had a lot of things going on, so I ended up watching very few movies. So, I went to Gondo for the first time in a long time, and the first movie I saw was a French movie. Movies from other countries are a little different from the American movies I usually see. Whether it's a melodrama, an action movie, or a comedy, the feeling is different, or rather, it's tinged with moisture. The work I was shown this time is a mystery. After much consideration, we decided on vegetable curry and keema curry. There are four types of spiciness to choose from: Level 0 (mild), Level 1 (slightly spicy), Level 2 (medium spicy), and Level 3 (very spicy). Since I said I wanted to receive a strong stimulation, I would have to choose the highest grade level 3 (very spicy). The main meal is a choice of naan or rice. There are three types of naan: ・Plain, Butter, and Cheese.For an additional 100 yen, you can also choose from luxurious options such as ・Slightly sweet coconut cheese, and garlic naan. Moreover, I could only get one refill, so I couldn't stop crying.After much consideration, I chose Vegetable Curry, Keema Curry, and Cheese Naan.Both curries were very spicy, and since I love cheese so much, I couldn't ignore the cheese naan.Vegetable Curry and Even so, you can hardly tell the shape of the vegetables because they are thoroughly stewed. Carrots and potatoes are just barely there, right? Something like that remains. Even so, the flavor of vegetables is the strongest. Keema curry has various definitions, but here it seems to be ``curry using minced meat.'' It's like brown, crumbly minced meat with a spicy flavor. I'm satisfied with the spiciness, but it's too spicy.Cheese Naan Plain naan is delicious, but when you add cheese, the taste suddenly increases. When you take a bite, a hot piece of cheese comes out from inside, burning your mouth, but it's also a wonderful experience. It was delicious, so delicious. Now that I'm full, I think I'll watch the second movie. The next documentary is going to be pretty intense, but let's watch it carefully.

とは「奥の細道」の冒頭部にしてこれを知らない日本人はかなり少ないのではないか。というくらいポピュラーな文章であろう。時間など勝手に進んでいくものであって、その時々、その事ごとひとつひとつに想いを馳せたところで何にもならない。というのは私の超訳だがまんざら間違いではなかろう。

ただ人間は記憶の生き物、感情の動物なのだ。あの時はこうだった、この時はどうだったとよく覚えている者がいる。一番最初に会ったときの印象とか、最初のデートでなにを食べたとか、どんな事を話したとか事細かに記憶しているのは家内の事だが、私のような過去を振り返る習慣のない者からするとどうにも理解出来ない事でもある。

とはいえ
昔からそこにあるもの、物心つく前から、あるいは子どもの頃出来上がって、一時はそこに入り浸ったことがある。そのような記憶がある、いや思い入れがあるものであれば、郷愁という言葉だけで片づけるわけにはいかないかもしれない。なにを言いたいかといえば、権堂のイトーヨーカドー長野店がいよいよ閉店の運びとなった。以前から取り沙汰されてはいたが、この6月7日で42年の歴史に幕を閉じるという。

42年！
オギャアと生まれた赤ちゃんが、そこそこなオッさんと化すには充分な時間である。わが身であれば11歳小学5年のころ。そんな時代のことなどきれいさっぱりと忘れ果ててしまった。そのような存在がなくなってしまえば、様々な方が様々な感慨をもって当たり前であろう。だからここしばらくの間、最後の日を過ごそうと連日の大混雑らしい。

ところが私のような長野新参組、しかもこちらを日常的に使っていない者にとっては、なくなってしまうのは残念だが、それはそれでいて仕方がないでしょう。地下の食料品売り場もあまり使ったことはないし、イートインスペースのポッポの今川焼きもこすげ亭の富士山盛りも嫌いではないが、そんなにしょっちゅう食べるものでもない。

と、聞く人によっては感情を害されるかもしれないが思い入れの対象でなければそんなものだ。しかし、そんな冷たい私ではあるが一点のみ残念でたまらない場所がある。それは5階のシネマポイントだ。映画館、いや小屋、いいや"スペース"といった方がしっくりきそうな小さな施設で、わずか80席しかない。以前からシブい作品やるなぁ、と思っていたのだが、一昨年タルコフスキー「ストーカー」を上映しているのを知り、あわてて観に行ったのがつきあいの始まりだった。

またチョイスが泣かせるのだ。
私のように古い映画好きが観ることが出来なかった作品をかけてくれるのだ。先のタルコフスキーやヘルツォーク、ベルトリッチなんて涙を流しながら観ていたと思う。「暗殺のオペラ」はよく分からなかったけど。

そして最後がイングマル・ベルイマン「ファニーのアレクサンデル」（1982）であるという。20歳のとき躊躇して見逃してしまった作品だ。なにしろ上映時間311分、5時間もあるのだ。一般人はは観に行かないよなぁ。だが、50すぎた決して一般人とはいえないオヤジは観るのだ。DVDであればいつでも観ることは出来るが、映画館での鑑賞など二度とは巡り合えないだろう。これは行くしかない。

という事で野暮用すませて体調ととのえ、後先の段取りを終えいざ権堂へ。開始が13:00だからまずは腹ごしらえから入るのが本寸法なことであろう。話のながれからすれば、こすげ亭で富士山盛りというのが正当であろうが、大混雑および三密必至の空間で食事は出来るだけ避けたい。そして選択したのがこちらだ。


「ビアホール トピ」
権堂アーケード中ほどに位置するインド料理店、兼カフェ、ビアホールという事になるのか。蒼のファサードが印象的な店舗だ。決まった曜日に生バンドによるLIVEが行われるときいたが、現在はどうなっているのだろうか。薄暗い内部の奥にドラムセットが置かれていたが、見るだけでドキドキしてきてしまう。ああ生でLIVEを観たい。休日にもランチメニューがあるというので注文はそこからのチョイスとした。

「焼きたてナンと熟成カレーセット」1100円
基本メニューという事でこれにしたのだが、なかなか楽しみなものであった。カレー、ナンともに選択制で、カレー3種やさい、キーマ、チキンの中から2種を、ナンはプレーン、バター、チーズの中から選択。ドリンクはホットコーヒー、アイスコーヒー、ホットティー、アイスティー、アイスウーロン茶の中から選択。
熟考の末カレーはやさいとキーマ、レベル3（大辛）とした。ナンはチーズ。ドリンクはウーロン茶。
千切りキャベツを主としたサラダは楚々として美味い。正円形のチーズナンは折り込まれたチーズがトロトロでよい。やさいカレーはよく煮込まれているのでジャガイモ以外の野菜は確認出来ないほど。キーマはひき肉たっぷりでよし。大辛にしてよかった。


エネルギーチャージ完了。気力・体力横溢となった。さぁ行くぞ、スウェーデン映画の大傑作「ファニーとアレクサンデル」5時間11分、気合入れていこう！
