This wonderful restaurant is conveniently located just 1-2 minutes from Nakakaruizawa Station. I had been interested in Kiraku for a while. Even if the restaurant is advertised as "Osakana Dining" in the Karuizawa area, fresh fish is still a bit of a hesitation in summer resorts. However, after this night, I decided to get rid of my preconceived notions. Karuizawa is originally a transit point for transporting fresh seafood from the Hokuriku region to Tokyo. In a sense, it is possible to get fresh seasonal fish earlier than Tokyo. (This is a bit of trivia I learned at another Sushi.) Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) is set up like a typical izakaya, and the name of the restaurant and the menu you see when you enter the restaurant are just guesswork, but the food that comes out is a surprise. On this day, we had a meal with six close friends. 3 appetizers Fresh ginger and apple salad 4 kinds of sashimi (marinated mackerel, amberjack, octopus, Shinshu salmon) Spicy Gyoza / Dumpling made with island chili peppers Grilled squid Grilled chicken with yuan sauce Sea urchin pasta Grilled rice balls with butterbur miso Toro taku thin roll We ordered a variety of dishes, but they served the pre-prepared dishes quickly, which is common at Izakaya (Japanese-style bar). There was no cutting Onigiri like that. The taste was not too strong, and they seemed to have a delicate technique that did not ruin the flavor of the ingredients. The "sea urchin pasta" that other reviewers had eaten was even more delicious than rumored, and it was a very satisfying evening party. The cost performance was also reasonable, which I would not expect in Karuizawa, and it seemed like a good restaurant I found in Shinbashi or Ueno. I look forward to visiting again.
