Grateful for the blessings of the mountains in the hidden Shinshu region of Toyamago, founded in 1921. A restaurant specializing in wild game dishes!
Please enjoy our set meals using wild game dishes from Toyamago, the southernmost part of Nagano Prefecture, soul food Genghis Khan, and homemade miso. For customers who don't like wild game dishes, w |
"Toyamago Rest stop" is located beyond the Hyogoe Pass from the direction of Hamamatsu. Since the Hyogoe Pass is a pass where only one car can pass, it is normal to come via National Route 418. I tried to come here last year, but gave up because the Hyogoe Pass was closed at that time. This time, the road was open, so I crossed the Hyogoe Pass to visit. At "Shokuraku Kobo Motoya" located on the grounds of Rest stop, you can enjoy a variety of set meals including Genghis Khan (Mutton grilled on a hot plate) Khan, the soul food of Toyamago. It seems that it can be used as Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) at night, and since it was Friday night, local ladies were gathered together and drinking. It seems to be crowded with locals on weekdays and riders on weekends, and according to the restaurant, they have reservations from tomorrow, the first day of Golden Week. [Toyamago Genghis Khan (Mutton grilled on a hot plate) Khan Set Meal] This was the answer I got when I asked the restaurant staff for a recommendation. Well, I expected it. Genghis Khan (Mutton grilled on a hot plate) uses plenty of flavorful lamb, combined with plenty of vegetables and mushrooms. The fragrant aroma of the freshly fried meat is noticeable, and the slightly strong seasoning is delicious. I won't say that there is no odor at all, but lamb does have an odor to begin with, so this level of flavor is not particularly bothersome. The rice and miso soup are self-serve, so you can help yourself to as much as you like. Since I had eaten Ramen in Toyohashi, I served myself a lot of rice and only had one bowl. The miso soup was also full of ingredients and vegetables. It had a gentle flavor and made me feel like I was in the countryside. Nagano is close, but I could feel like I had come a long way, and it's a place I really love. Thank you for the meal.
