I was once a customer of Royal Host, a Fukuoka-based restaurant - it's been 20 years since then!
Last month, the Restaurants "Royal Host" was featured on the TV show Shiru Shiru Mishiru. I was surprised at how much TV influence there was! Some customers (including my family) go to check it out (laughs). Recently, the restaurant industry has been featured regularly, and it seems that many restaurants see an increase in customers afterwards. Today's schedule is to cross the Iojima Ohashi Bridge, which opened in March, and go to "Yasuragi Iojima" for a day trip to the hot springs! On the way, we plan to have lunch at "Royal Host". It is the last stop on the Nagasaki streetcar line, "Hotaru-chaya". From here, it takes about 30 minutes to get to Iojima via Tagami. Royal Nakasu Main Branch opened in 1953 as a high-end Restaurants serving authentic Western Western Cuisine. The first place I ate at was near the Nishitetsu Grand Hotel in Tenjin. At that time, there were fewer restaurants than there are now. All I had left was the memory that something this delicious exists in this world (lol). The popular "Royal Host" opened in 1971 as a casual Restaurants. When I lived in Fukuoka, I used to go there for the 500 yen daily lunch, and at the time, cheap was good enough. It felt like a normal Family restaurant, and I don't remember it being delicious. It's been 20 years since then (lol), and I was invited to go there for the first time in a long time after seeing it on TV! The special thing about this place is that they have a chef in the kitchen - I couldn't go wrong when I looked in (lol). They were currently holding a curry fair. But I passed and ordered two dishes that caught my eye. I waited while watching the cars passing by on the national highway from inside the restaurant. The hidden area behind the restaurant on the opposite side is a cemetery! [b:★"Iron Pot Meat Sauce"] (819 yen) This dish is crispy fried sausages mixed with rich meat sauce and served hot on a hot iron plate. They were keen to serve it hot, but the texture was a bit oily. There were only a few peas and a thin slice of onion in sight, and the overall color scheme was lacking. [b:★"Mini Gratin"] (819 yen) It took a while to prepare, and arrived just as I had finished eating everything (lol). The mini-sized gratin was quite tasty. It didn't satisfy my stomach as much as a mini. [b:★"B Set"] (441 yen) Choose one of three dishes: combination salad, soup with seven kinds of vegetables, or potage made with Tokachi corn. The juice from the free drink system tasted pretty good, but the coffee was terrible. [u: Overall, if I'm healthy, I'll probably go back in 20 years (lol)] On my way out, the American cookies placed next to Reggie caught my eye, so I carefully chose three. Each one was 120 yen, but for three pieces - butter sugar, dark chocolate and double angle - it came to 300 yen, so I was weak to the magic of numbers.

<January 2017> We stopped here on the way back from enjoying the "Daffodil Festival" held every year in Nomozaki. From Shiraki-cho, head down the road towards Yanodaira and Hotaru-chaya, the train's terminus. At the end of the road, National Route 34 intersects with Royal Host, which is located on the second floor of the train depot. Both restaurant and the parking lot are on the second floor. When there are no Restaurants nearby, we use it for lunch late at night. - "Grilled young chicken and curry Croquette lunch" - "Hamburg" Soup and rice are included. As you'd expect from a family Restaurants, the seasoning is just right. Croquette was delicious.
