島原観光に行き、鯉の泳ぐ街を散策したあと、島原駅に戻る途中、こちらにお邪魔しました。
表通り向きには由緒ありそうな金物屋さんがあって、その建物の奥の一角の古民家風の建物にあります。ランチのお客さんもいて結構繁盛してましたが、テーブルについて、私は島原ミルクセーキ、嫁はぜんざいをコーヒーと一緒に注文しました。この島原ミルクセーキは食べるミルクセーキともいわれ、長崎名物だというのを以前テレビで見て、一度試してみたいと思っていたもの。飲み物ではなく、卵・砂糖・練乳などを氷を入れて粉砕してシャーベットのようにしたものです。夏の定番のようですが、こちらのお店では一年中やってますとのことで、暖房のよくきいたところだったので、迷わず頼みました。超てんこ盛りで溶けると器からこぼれそうなので急いでいただくと、頭がキーンと痛くなった。本当においしかった。でも体が急激に冷えたので、コーヒーで体を温めながらいただきました。これはやはり夏にいただけばさらにうまいのでしょう。ぜんざいも旨そうでした。
