It is said that it has celebrated its 40th anniversary since its opening. I've only been there once in the past, but it must have been over 30 years ago. It seems like it was rebuilt, so I don't remember anything other than that I visited it before then. This time it was a lunch social gathering with friends (volunteers) who regularly visit Yamatokoriyama. I visited on a Saturday in late April. The roads of Yamatokoriyama's old town are a series of surprises the first time you visit. It's difficult because it's only one-way traffic. But once you get used to it, it's surprisingly okay. The store is located a little south of the road from Kintetsu Koriyama Station to JR Koriyama Station. I believe it's a one-way street, so if you're driving, you'll have to come from the south. There is a parking lot for 8 cars in front of the store. We were greeted by a chic building that reminded us of the Mediterranean Sea (is that an exaggeration?). As you head towards the back from between the buildings, you will see the entrance to the store on your left, and there is a little trick to it. The front facing the entrance from the parking lot is made of glass, allowing you to get a glimpse of the interior. If you look closely, you can see that they are making pizza indoors. There was a table on the left for rolling out the dough and adding toppings, and two pizza ovens on the right. And the pizza was made there. When you enter the store, you will be greeted by a large space divided into two rooms. Tables were lined up in a large and medium hall-like space, and it seemed like there was another group of customers including us on the day, so the tables were lined up next to each other. The most impressive thing is the bright red tablecloth. After consulting with everyone, we ordered the pizza set (1,650 yen). A set that includes pizza and salad. You can select pizza from the menu or today's pizza. It seems that you can also add a drink and dolce for 400 yen each. The lunch menu also includes pasta set (1,430 yen), A set (salad, appetizer, soup, fish or Meat Dishes, pizza or pasta, drink (2,750 yen)), B set (A set + aperitif, 1 appetizer) Plus, Dolce). There were other recommended menu items listed on the blackboard. There were 10 of us, but we decided to split into groups of 5 and each order 5 types of pizza to share. I ordered the classic Margherita, Estoria, Four Seasons Pizza, and Spring Vegetable Pizza.I forgot the other one (heh!).The food arrived while looking at the pizza oven and pizza making process that were visible from the side of the entrance. wait. The salad came first. I was expecting a normal vegetable salad, but a mini cup of soup, three slices of potato, and raw vegetables appeared on the plate. It doesn't have a lot of vegetables to be considered a salad, but you can enjoy other things as well, so I guess this is what it is. When I finished eating this, a member informed me that I could get another helping. eh! There's no bulletin board anywhere! However, we all asked for refills. Eventually, the pizzas arrived one by one at different times. What I noticed here is that the pizza appears uncut. Also, I can't find a pizza cutter. When I asked the staff at the restaurant, they told me that each person had to cut their own food using the knife and fork set on the table. I later realized that on the paper cloth set on the table, there was an instruction to eat Italian pizza with a knife and fork. Five people shared five pizzas, and we were able to enjoy different flavors. This pizza was large, but it was a crispy type, so eating just one slice left my stomach feeling just right. The pizza is baked right in front of you (albeit behind the glass) and served immediately, so it's sure to be delicious. It's not a pizza full of toppings like chain restaurants, but I feel like the flavor of the toppings comes alive. Overall, the food was delicious, but I don't think it feels like a stylish restaurant these days, but rather a restaurant that has been in business for many years and has a taste and technique. Thank you for the meal.
