{Revisited in April 2015} I visited again for lunch with a friend. I suggested other restaurants, but my friend requested that we try this one since we had never been there before. Last time we were on the second floor, but this time we ate on the first floor. The atmosphere is just as wonderful as ever. However... I feel that the food and service were a bit disappointing for a 3,500 yen lunch. The appetizer was a vegetable and salmon jelly? It looked beautiful and was delicious. Next was potage soup. For the main course, we had a choice of fish or meat, and I chose fish. It was normally tasty, but a little too normal... If you choose meat, it was lamb grilled with herbs and breadcrumbs. My friend apparently often makes it at home...(^^;;But it didn't seem particularly impressive. The mango sauce for dessert was quite sour, so I was a little disappointed at the end (≧∇≦) I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy the atmosphere. Thank you for the meal. [First visit in December 2013] I visited for dinner one day before Christmas. I had read about the opening in the local paper and was thinking I'd like to go, when I got an invitation for dinner in the Yagi area, so I suggested this restaurant. Looking at the website, dinner prices were 5,000 yen (tax and service charge not included) and 8,000 yen (tax and service charge not included), but maybe because it was before Christmas, I was told that dinner was 7,000 yen (service charge not included, so it was 7,700 yen). I thought they were being a bit bold, considering it's a restaurant in the middle of nowhere in the Nara countryside, and quite a distance from the station, so I made a reservation. (It was decided on the spur of the moment, so I was able to make a reservation by calling just before lunch on the day) We made a reservation for 7:30pm. There seems to be parking space in front of the restaurant (maybe around 5?). This restaurant is in a Western-style building that is a registered tangible cultural property, so the physical aspects are quite good. The atmosphere of the building and the interior both create a wonderful atmosphere that is unlike any other. I was really looking forward to it! But... how should I describe the food... It wasn't unique, innovative or stylish... The appetizer was smoked salmon and duck. The fish was grilled white fish served with boiled vegetables. The meat was beef cheek stewed in red wine. It was accompanied by mashed potatoes and, for some reason, boiled shimeji mushrooms. The most disappointing thing was the dessert. Apple compote, melon and vanilla ice cream... It was pretty disappointing lol. All of this cost 7,700 yen (^^; The table seats are on the second floor, so the servers have to go up the stairs every time they serve food, which I felt a bit sorry for (^^; I guess the best thing about this place is the great atmosphere. I think it's a good place to go if you narrow down your purpose. Thank you for the meal.
