This is Nara, Sakurai City, Nara Prefecture. It's right near Sakurai Station, where JR and Kintetsu lines share the same line. After leaving the south exit of Sakurai Station, walk a little east along the tracks of the Kintetsu Osaka Line from the side of the rotary, and you'll find this restaurant. So, rather than in front of the station? Beside the tracks? Maybe it was a little early, but at first glance from the outside of the restaurant, I couldn't tell if it was open or closed. But I mustered up the courage to open the sliding door with a Showa-era atmosphere, and although they were preparing various things, the restaurant was open, so I was ushered inside. The seat I was shown to was a tatami-mat seat, which was nice and spacious♪ Relaxing♪ I ordered a draft beer and was toasting with my friend when a well-used charcoal grill was brought out and placed in the center of the table!! Just looking at this charcoal grill makes me want to drink any number of beers, but I started with tongue sashimi, then ordered top-grade belly, top-grade skirt steak, tsurami, kainomi, and red senbei in a furious rush!! The meat was quite delicious and worth the price. The oxtail soup was also very good, so I was glad I ordered it!! I don't often have a chance to come to Sakurai, but I'd like to stop by again if I'm in the area. I think so.
