June 2022 After visiting the usual hospital, the sky was clear. Enjoying the cool breeze, we took a walk to Nishibori-dori. This is one of the restaurants that came up when I searched for "Nishihoridori, lunch." Having Japanese Cuisine Japanese-style meal, gives it a more upscale feel. I didn't think it was a place where I could eat lunch alone. On the menu in front of the store, there are descriptions of obanzai, upper obanzai, etc. If it's obanzai, it must be for the masses, so I take the plunge and go inside. Counter seats and a small raised area. I was guided to one of the counter seats and ordered the upper obanzai from the menu. 1,650yen. Assorted appetizers, sashimi, boiled bamboo shoots, herring, and eggplant, fava tofu, etc. Refills of rice and miso soup are available. Assortment of 4 types of sashimi. The sea bass with kelp was delicious. Coffee or tea will be served after your meal. Incidentally, the difference between obanzai and upper obanzai is that obanzai does not have sashimi or appetizers, but the main dish is grilled fish. It was not a fillet, but a tail. I think obanzai is enough in terms of quantity. I learned that it is a casual Japanese Cuisine restaurant that you can easily visit, so I would like to visit again.
