This is a popular Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) in Niigata. I was impressed by the deliciousness of the seared mackerel when I visited last time, so I came back to eat it again! I had the seared mackerel in the sashimi platter, but it wasn't enough, so I ordered it separately. The seared mackerel was really delicious with plenty of fat. The friend who brought me here for the first time said, "It's one of the top three things I've ever eaten in my life. I came all the way from Kansai to Niigata for this." It's definitely the best mackerel I've ever had in my life. Not only the seared mackerel, but the other sashimi was also thick, fresh and delicious. The salmon roe pickled in yuzu pepper was also soft and salty, and went really well with the sake! The garlic-flavored grilled edamame was also very tasty, and I couldn't stop eating it. The umesuisho was served in twice the amount that you would get in Kansai. This place is really delicious and cheap, so I'd definitely like to visit it when I go to Niigata.
