I've been to Niigata many times for travel and work, but this was my first time at Maruyoshi. When I went inside, the slightly dark interior was lit by spotlights to create a nice atmosphere. They were confident in the prices of each Grilled skewer. I tried them all, and they were all delicious. Recently, I've found Nikaido Yoshishiro (barley) to be easier to drink than Tominohozan (sweet potato), and Maruyoshi also stocks Yoshishiro, so I think many people in the Kanto region drink Yoshishiro, so if you're looking for it, you can find it here.
