On New Year's Eve, I stayed overnight at an inn in Furumachi, Niigata City. Since it was in the old downtown area, I expected there to be several restaurants, even though it was New Year's Eve, but there were almost none, so I decided that Takochi was the only restaurant I could find as my runner-up, so I took the plunge and went in. I expected it to be crowded since there were no other stores, but the large store was empty. I looked at the menu and chose Set B, which seemed like a good deal. First up is a fist-sized bowl of salad. Add the dressing and take a bite. yeah? The unfamiliar scent made my throat feel slightly uncomfortable. The dressing seems unique. Next was mutton curry, naan, and grilled chicken? has arrived. Nan is huge! It's delicious when you tear it up and eat it with curry. The chicken is also flavored with unique spices. The salad that I sometimes bring to my mouth gets used to it a little, and I feel like I might become addicted to it. I'm glad that the curry was more delicious than I expected.
