新潟にいるのだから寿司を食いたいと携帯で検索して辿り着いた店。
立派な店構えと広い駐車場から抱いた印象とは裏腹に、店内は何となく騒然とした雰囲気。
カウンターに座ってしまったからかも知れないが、カウンター内側の板前さんと奥の調理場の忙しそうな仕草が丸見えで、やや落ち着かない。
カウンターの内側に立つ板前さん（ご主人かも知れないが、ご主人ではないかも知れない）は気さくな雰囲気の方で、寿司を握りながらずっと常連さんらしき地元のお客さんと喋っている。
客の言った値段に対して「その金額だと握りは何艦しか付けられない」とか、割と厳しい交渉の会話である。宴会予約の価格交渉らしい。
交渉客はカウンター席の背後側通路に立っているから、会話はカウンター席に座った客の頭越しに飛び交う。
それにしても、手は寿司を握る動作を淡々と続ける一方で、同時に熾烈な交渉会話をも行うとは誠に仕事熱心なこと、ある意味で賞賛に値する。商売繁盛の秘訣はこれか。
ただし客としては、できれば手と口の動作を区分してもらいたいところだが、忙しいのだろう。
ハラハラするので、あまり見ぬよう聞かぬよう、こちらが努力するしかない。
寿司の味は、まぁまぁ、という印象だった。
