2010年11月27日から29日まで東京・池袋サンシャインシティで開かれたニッポン全国物産展の日本全国ご当地おやつランキングで、「パンダ焼き弥彦むすめ（枝豆）餡（あん）」がグランプリを受賞し、日本一のおやつに輝きました。 |
新潟県弥彦にある和菓子屋さん。
看板商品は「たい焼き」のパンダ版として生まれた「パンダ焼き」。
2010年に開催された、第1回「ニッポン全国 ご当地 おやつランキング」でグランプリを受賞した商品です。

場所は弥彦駅から徒歩5分ほど。
弥彦神社に参拝に行く途中、可愛いパンダの看板に惹かれて伺いました。
「パンダ焼き」は、たい焼きのアレンジ版のようですが、モチモチした食感なので大福などの餅系和菓子に近い感じ。
餡は小豆やカスタード、フルーツクリームなど種類豊富。
1番人気は弥彦村で収穫される「弥彦むすめ」という品種の枝豆を潰して作るずんだ餡。
本日はこの弥彦むすめ餡入りのパンダ焼きを購入。
その場で手軽に食べられるので、歩き食べにも向いています。

パンダ型の生地の中に餡が入った「たい焼き」ならぬ「パンダ焼き」。
生地には米粉・餅粉・麦粉・ベーキングパウダーなどが入っていてモッチモチ。
餡はちょっと塩味がある甘じょっぱい味に枝豆の風味。
この餡がモチモチの生地と良く合います。
