新潟から長岡に向かい、郊外チェーン店が並ぶ南区を通り過ぎ、少し寂しくなってきた頃、通り沿いに「とんかつ」の文字が。南区で日和ってチェーン店に入らないで良かった。
１人当たりのスペースを広くとったカウンターに座り、熟成ロースかつランチ（税込み１３８６円）を注文。山盛りの千切りキャベツとともに厚さ１センチ弱のかつが出てきます。それほど大きくない。ご飯は白ごはん、みそ汁は豚汁を選択。飲み物もつくのでアップルジュースを頼みました。
かつの肉はしっとりしていて柔らか。ごまを擦り入れた特製ソースにつけ、からしをたっぷり塗って食べました。味は悪くない。ご飯の硬さもいい。豚汁もうまい。キャベツ用のドレッシングは２種類出て、さっぱりしたタマネギドレッシングでいただきました。これもうまい。
悪くないんだけれど、ぬきんでるものがないんだなぁ。
ご飯、みそ汁、キャベツがお代わりできるのがありがたい。って、普通か。
