お店は越後平野のど真ん中みたいな場所にあり、ゑびす会館という割烹のランチ専用の別館みたいな感じです。カウンターと小上がり、それと2名用のテーブル席が1席だけあります。キャパはそれなりにあります。
メニューはとても豊富です。迷いに迷って、「うなぎ丼」税込1,330円です。普段は外食でウナギを食することはあまりありません。何故かって、単純に高いからです。でもこちらの税込1,330円は贅沢ではありますが許容範囲内ギリギリです。さてそのうなぎ丼ですが、本体以外に味噌汁（肝吸いではもちろんありません）、漬け物が付きます。うなぎ丼本体ですが、うなぎは値段が値段ですので、ふっくら柔らかとまではいきませんが、ちゃんと肉厚で脂ののりもそこそこですし、焼いた香ばしさもあってスーパーのうなぎとは一線を画します。タレは色が濃く、かなりの粘性があります。味は色の割には強くありません。どちらかといえば甘めに振られている感じです。その粘性のおかげでご飯にしみることなく、コーティングをしてくれます。少しうなぎ本体が少ないのを補ってくれる感じです。熱々の味噌汁は薄めですが、煮詰まった感がなく美味しくいただけます。このお値段なら、うな丼として納得かと思いました。次回は「かつなべ定食」を食べてみたいですね。
