3 minutes walk from JR Shinetsu Main Line Kamo Station. A restaurant that uses germinated whole wheat noodles. Boasting fragrant noodles and rich, chemical-free soup.
Located near Ome Shrine, one of the prefecture's most famous power spots. This ramen shop serves a rich, flavorful bowl of noodles made with a carefully selected, chemical-free soup and nutritious ger |
The restaurant is located between Kamo Station and Kamoyama Park, one street behind the main street. There is no parking lot, but there is a parking lot in the shopping street on the main street, and it is just a short walk from there. The parking lot in Kamoyama Park is also close, so you might want to use that if it's not the tourist season. I parked in the parking lot in the shopping street. I visited around 1pm, but there were no customers. The restaurant is a bit like an eel's bed. I sat at the edge of the counter seat at the back. There are five items on the menu, including the four in the photo and Shiitake soba (Chinese) for 1,050 yen. The price is noteworthy. Mapo noodles are 1,050 yen, just like Shiitake soba. It's over 1,000 yen. The cheapest is Chinese soba with soy sauce for 880 yen. I admit that cheap is justice, but I think it's only natural to pay the price for the store's legitimate profits. It's much better than having to close the store because you can't get over the 1,000 yen barrier. So, I ordered "Chuka Soba 'Salt'" for 980 yen, and while eating the noodles, I looked around and saw "Boiled Gyoza / Dumpling" for 310 yen (it's different from the picture, but I paid 1,290 yen in total, so I think the price has probably gone up). I ordered this as an additional order. Like the shiitake soba, I wish they listed it all together on the menu. First, the Chinese noodles salt. It looks beautiful. It comes with chicken meatballs, two pieces of roast pork (different parts), etc. What's unusual is that it comes with dried tomatoes. Condiments are served separately. I think they're rock nori, shiso leaves, yuzu pepper, and sansho pepper. You can add them in order to change the flavor. First, the soup. Hmm, it's salty, but it's not too salty. It's called a seafood and chicken soup, but rather than tasting each, I feel the umami of them all together. I wonder if they use shrimp flavored oil? Maybe that's the influence, but it has Ethnic Cuisine feel to it. Also, when I slurp the noodles, I can't help but feel the Italian Cuisine flavor. But the base is Japanese dashi. When there are no artificial flavors, the flavors tend to clash, but this soup is well-balanced and has a deep flavor. It's exactly my taste. The noodles are made from germinated whole wheat flour. They have a firm texture. However, the wheat flavor is not very prominent. For me, it was a very satisfying bowl. It's boiled Gyoza / Dumpling, and the filling is punchy but not too much. I think the owner probably wants you to enjoy the smoothness of the skin and the chewy texture. And I think he achieved that well. Wow, it was delicious. I'd like to try soy sauce next time. Still, it's strange that this restaurant doesn't have a line. One more thing. This is Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) at night, but the lineup of sake is amazing. If it were nearby, I'd go for a drink.
