新潟県長岡市栃尾地域の道の駅です。
栃尾は上杉謙信旗揚げの地として有名で、
昔栃尾城址に行ったことが有りました。
こちらの道の駅は栃尾らしくレストランや売店などで栃尾名物の油揚げを食べることが出来ます。
外にある売店は「佐藤豆腐店」の油揚げを販売していて、
行列が出来ていました。
長岡名物の醤油赤飯や長岡市のレストランナカタの冷凍カレー。
越乃景虎や越の鶴など栃尾の日本酒、
また豆撰の油揚げなど栃尾地域の商品も置いてあります。
この日は栃尾油揚げの食べ比べイベントを開催していました。
500円から参加可能。
500円でチケットを5枚入手し、
1チケットで油揚げを2枚ゲットできます。
10店舗ほど食べ比べ、
揚げ正・まめ工房ぽっぽ・星長豆腐店など、
店舗毎に味が違っていてとても面白い。
ネギなどの薬味がないのが残念、
有料でもいいので有るといいと思う。
日本酒もありましたがこういう時に運転手は辛い。。。
ナカタの50倍カレーと景虎のなまざけを買って帰りました。
栃尾の魅力がわかりやすい道の駅だと思います。
