宝亭さんは上越大通りを南に進み、南高田まで行った所にある定食のお店です。入って右側にカウンターと厨房、左側にテーブル席が２つあります。テーブルの上にはなぜか飴がありました。メニューは麺類と定食類が中心です。お店のメインメニューはリンク先のサイトにあります。店内にはメニューの他に料理の写真を撮ってプリントしたものを壁に貼ってくれていますので、初めて来た人でも内容が良く分かります。
ジャックランドなどの雑誌の特集でよく出てくるのが五目ラーメンで私も初めはこれを食べに来たのですが、壁にあった焼肉定食の写真に目が止まった時にどうしてもこれを食べたくなりました。焼肉定食は1,250円でおそらくこのお店で一番高い料理でしょう。しかし、定食の3枚のお肉が厚くて食べ応えがあるのです。これだけの大きさの焼肉は七福食堂並です。このお肉にかかっているタレがやや濃い目なのでご飯が進みました。また、写真をご覧になればわかりますが、野菜をたくさん使っているのもこちらのお店の特徴です。小鉢に隠れていますがお豆腐も普通のものよりコクがありました。
