Katsumaru is loved by many!
The meat is Shiunji Pioneer Pork, which is known for its fine texture and tenderness, the bread crumbs are roughly cut for a crispy texture, and the frying oil is pure vegetable salad oil. You can eat |
Aga-machi, Niigata Prefecture. I don't often come to this area, but I went there on business that day. There were a few restaurants I had checked out, but they were closed, so I gave up. I went into this restaurant, which was close to where I was going. It faces Route 49, the main road in the area, so it's easy to access. I was attracted by the words "Fluffy, Soft, Pork Cutlet." It's spacious, with table seats around the hearth, regular square tables, and raised seats. The menu is extensive. Pork Cutlet course, Ten-don (tempura rice bowl) is the main dish, but they also have tempura bowls, Omelette Rice, and fried rice. They also have soba and udon, but it's safe to order Fried food. They have a daily lunch menu. It's hard to find, but it's written just inside the entrance. On this day, I had fried shrimp and chicken cutlet (880 yen). By the way, you can have more rice (for the main menu?) but you can't have the daily special. By the way, Aga-machi is known for Kirinzan (Japanese sake) and mega-sized portions. I guess it's part of the town revitalization, but there will be a mega-sized event. Last year it was from mid-October to mid-December. It will probably be held again this year. Some restaurants in Aga Town offer mega-sized menus, and this restaurant participated in it. It's different here, but some of them have challenge menus that are free if you finish it within the time limit. 10 servings Tempura and soba noodles in a 15-minute time limit, 10 servings of Fried food in a 30-minute time limit...I definitely can't do it (;-ω-) While I was thinking about that, the daily lunch was served. Two pieces of chicken cutlet, fried shrimp, shredded cabbage, spaghetti salad (with mayonnaise), bite-sized (two-bite?) cold tofu, pickled daikon, rice with miso, and a drink from the drink bar. It's quite a volume. The shrimp is quite large, and the chicken cutlet is soft. The batter is crispy and delicious. I think the daily lunch is a great deal. Thank you for the meal.
