岡山の、田町にある、天ぷらを中心とした割烹。ちょっと値は張るが、味は保障する。店には靴を脱いで上がる。1階は奥に長くカウンターだけ。2階もあるようだが、そちらへは上がっていないので、どんな席なのかは不明。
今回は、「岡山の魚も美味しいぜ」という地元の人のナビゲートで訪問。注文も、和食、それも魚介を中心にした。刺身から天ぷらから、どれも美味しく、また日本酒も、中国地方の地酒を中心に揃えられており、僕のような遠方からの客にとっては本当に楽しめた。
他の方のレビューを拝読すると、天ぷらの油がクドかったとの記述が複数あり、ひょっとすると揚げ手の違いか、偶然アタリだったのかもしれないが、何にせよ天ぷらも、特に問題なし。
この日特に旨かったのだが、いつもあるかは分からないが、この日のオススメに入っていたという太造海老の天ぷらで、これがとにかく旨かった！聞けば岡山、特に瀬戸内海あたりではなかなか有名なエビらしい。
せっかくのカウンターなのに、板さんは常に忙しく、なかなか話ができないので、1人よりは2人以上のほうがいいね。
実は今回は「奢り」だったため、本来であればレビュー対象外とすべきかもしれないが、滅多に来ない岡山、そして何より、これほどの店にも関わらず★2.7台(！？)とあっては、応援のためにレビューせざるを得ない。
