The restaurant is located on a quiet street a little ways from the restaurant district. I visited here for dinner. I took off my shoes and went inside the restaurant, sitting at the counter with a sunken kotatsu. It was still cold, so there was an electric blanket under my feet. I quickly had a beer and some marinated mackerel. Next, I ordered a half-body steamed blue crab. Well, the marinated mackerel and crab both tasted nothing special. Next, I had their specialty, fried octopus. Apparently, the Takohan Group was started by the president, who originally served it on his fishing boat. When I tried the fried octopus, it was sweet. It wasn't the octopus that was sweet, but the seasoning of the fried chicken. When I asked the chef, he told me that people who drink alcohol want something a little sweet, so they season it this way. The taste of fried octopus is apparently the same at all Takohan Group restaurants. I prefer it salty, though.
