I had year-end soba noodles in Okayama on my way home. I searched for a soba restaurant that was open on the night of December 31st and made a reservation through Tabelog site. There are four types of soba kaiseki on the menu (2200-8000 yen), but this time I reserved the Tsumugi 3500 yen so I wouldn't overeat during the New Year holidays. Appetizer (white walnuts, dashimaki egg, simmered Japanese yam, Dutch-stewed eggplant, turnip, dried daikon radish) Soba dishes (fried soba brats) Zaru soba (two types of soup) Assorted Tempura Warm soba noodles (duck) Dessert (soba pudding) Private room You don't have to worry about it because we are dealing with it. It seemed to be busy on December 31st, but there was a call button and everyone was keeping an eye on me, so I didn't have to wait, and the food came out smoothly. I like that they serve two types of soba: cold soba and warm soba. Soba is said to be 100% soba. There are two types of dipping sauces served with the zaru soba, and the walnut sauce was very delicious. I ended up just wearing that one. The soba brats look a bit like flower petals, so I wonder if they are reminiscent of New Year's. I thought. The final dessert, soba pudding, was also delicious.
