Sanyo Japanese-style Ryokan and Catering Service, 1st floor. Chinese noodles available every day (as of October 2012) http://www.otatsu.net |
The kappo restaurant "Otazu" is located on the first floor of the long-established Ryokan "Sanyo Ryokan" in Kasaoka City, Okayama Prefecture. This restaurant is a kappo restaurant, but it is also famous for being able to enjoy Okayama's local Ramen "Kasaoka Ramen". The taste of the famous restaurant "Saito" representing the now-defunct Kasaoka Ramen is reproduced by the owner of the board. When it was offered irregularly at the store, it became a regular because of its popularity. Kasaoka Ramen is my favorite local Ramen, so this is one of the shops I wanted to visit. On the way to Kyushu, I just passed through Kasaoka, so I decided to stop by. The shop is about a 2-3 minute walk from Kasaoka Station. There was a parking lot next to restaurant. This day was a Friday, and I visited the store around 7:30 p.m. There were only two customers in the room. The menu is a lineup of various dishes centered on Seafood. Ramen The menu is only Chinese soba noodles, and it is mainly a kappo restaurant. This time, I ordered only Chinese soba noodles because I was looking for Ramen. [Chinese soba noodles] 650 yen (tax included) The ingredients include menma, green onions, Ramen Kasaoka's characteristic wrinkled char siu of the parent chicken, and unique toppings such as string chili peppers and sesame seeds. The soup is made by adding Japanese-style broth made from seasonal fresh fish, dried fish, bonito flakes, kelp, etc. Until now, I have often eaten Kasaoka Ramen, which has a rich flavor of chicken, but this one has a gentle taste with a good balance of seafood. The saltiness is moderate, and it is characterized by a slightly spreading sweetness and a sesame oil-like flavor. The noodles are medium-thin straight noodles with a chewy and moderate firmness. The crunchy texture of the char siu is strongly seasoned with soy sauce. It was not the type that exuded the flavor as you chewed it, and it was a little salty, but this saltiness is a little addictive. The menma is crispy and light, and the string chili has a slight spiciness. It was like Kasaoka Ramen with a gentle taste, and it was delicious. It was a treat! * This is a review of my visit in late April, but apparently this store closed in June. When I update with a time difference, this kind of thing sometimes happens. I will reflect.
