おそらくは、沖縄で最も歴史と格式の高い料理屋さん、それがここ「美榮 」ではないだろうか。
私がここを知ったきっかけは、全国の伝統料理を食べる旅行をしていた時、東道盆の存在を知り、都内で頂き、次はぜひ沖縄本島の本場で頂いてみたいという想いがあった。
創業は1958年、古波藏登美さんという方が始めたそう。
沖縄料理というと、蕎麦、チャンプルー、ジューシー、てびちにおでん、居酒屋でもおなじみの庶民的家庭料理を思い浮かべるが、ここ美榮で供されるものは宮廷料理。
洗練された盛り付け、追及されつくした味、それを彩る器。
そのすべてが卓越した域にあり、美食の街東京の料亭とも肩を並べるほどの感動を受けるに違いないと思う。
今回注文したのは「梯梧」東道盆を含めた全15品のそれ。
店舗は開発著しい県庁前で、高層ビルが居並ぶ中に、ぽつんと古民家が残り、そこが美榮さんだ。
美しいおかみが出迎えてくれ、広い個室に通された。他のお客とは導線を分け、完全にプライベートが担保されるような設計になっており、家族での利用や接待、一人グルメ旅でも重宝するだろう。
率直に感想をまとめると以下のような感じ
・超極薄味料理
・1品の量は極めて少ない
・体に負担のかからない構成
なので、いかにも高貴な方へ提供していたもののような感想を受けた。
注意したいのはお酒類。
ここの泡盛は全て古酒なので、お値段はそれなりにする。
ビールは市況価格だが、奮発できるならぜひ古酒に挑んでもらいたい。
とにかく美味しかった。
最終的には1人2万円近くになるが、それでもコスパは最高と思える内容で、豚しゃぶや、そばに飽きたなら、是非1日はここで食事をとるのもいいかなと思う。
