Due to the cancellation of the Ishigaki flight due to the typhoon, I was stranded in Naha tonight... I managed to secure a hotel for the night and headed into town for dinner. What I came across was ``DAINING Hana,'' which was recommended by my senior. There are about 8 seats at the counter and one table on a small rise in the back. A row of awamori bottles are lined up behind the counter. Inside the counter, there are a man cooking and several women... It's like an izakaya Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) bar where they serve solid food. It was a typhoon Friday, and the time was just before 9pm.The stylish atmosphere of the restaurant was about 80% full. It's quite busy probably because it's the weekend. The menu includes island rakkyo, various types of champuru, tofu yolk, sea grapes, rafute, etc... In addition, there is a wide range of Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) Sushi such as sashimi and clam butter, sushi, and original Creative Cuisine. Our orders were: * Orion draft 500 yen * Ryukyu awamori Shirayuri value * Umibudo value * Tofu yoi 500 yen * Steamed chicken with green onion sauce * Bitter melon champuru ~ 750 yen * Rafute (value) * Seared chicken 750 yen Along with the delicious food, the kind service from the staff... Casually interesting conversations with the locals sitting next to you... Sudden forced changes to your schedule are one of the best parts of traveling.
