A farewell party for my boss who came from Kanagawa to the Okinawa branch for two years was held at the end of March, when the state of emergency declaration was expected to be issued soon due to the coronavirus pandemic. We decided to hold the party at a small restaurant (also called a kappo) near Onoyama Koen Station, a little outside of Naha City, because drinking in the city is a bit dangerous due to the season (I'm worried about the density), so we decided to hold the party at a small restaurant (also called a kappo) near Onoyama Koen Station, a little outside of Naha City. This restaurant is not only a hidden gem, but also feels like a hideaway because it is a private home. The first floor of the house was renovated into a restaurant, and it is a wonderful restaurant with two tables in the spacious living room, six counter seats, and one table in the tatami room with an open ceiling, so there is no density at all. In addition, as we approach summer, there is also a terrace seat, which has better ventilation, so it is a wonderful hideaway that is recommended on sunny nights. This restaurant was opened by a mother who used to run a restaurant in Kume to serve authentic Japanese-style meal and Okinawan Cuisine at her home. It is about 800 yen by taxi from the nobuta company. It's a little far away, so I don't have many opportunities to go there, but it's a great little restaurant for a small farewell party like this. I made a reservation in advance and secured a low table, and when I told them that it was a drinking party to see off my boss who was returning to the mainland, they said, "We'll prepare a balanced mix of mainland and Okinawan Cuisine." The basic price for this restaurant is 4,000 yen for the "selection Course." It used to be 3,000 yen, but it's inevitable that prices will rise with the times. The taste is reliable, so you can rest assured, and the service is polite, so it's enough as a hospitality. So, I arrived at the restaurant just before 7pm on a weekday. I was the first customer of the day. The low table in the tatami room that I had reserved is a size for six people, but it's spacious for four people. First, I ordered a draft beer, and then switched to a bottle of "Harusame" from Miyazato Sake Brewery in Oroku. After all, it was the last supper for my boss before he returned to the mainland, so I wanted to drink "Harusame", a delicious Okinawan awamori, and add "good luck (curry)" to it (lol). The food was served to each person. This is a basic response during the coronavirus pandemic. This restaurant serves "Obanzai", a home-cooked dish by the owner, so we started with an assortment of Obanzai with vinegared mozuku seaweed. After that, we had sashimi, and the restaurant's popular dish, squid ink chawanmushi, and Kibimaru pork loin Yakiniku (Grilled meat). After that, we had a course that ended with chimaki and pudding, but as an additional dish, we were given the also popular stewed pork ribs (oden). When we had finished the oden, they brought out a large chimaki, and this chimaki was delicious! Yes, it was delicious!! Until now, I thought that the obanzai was the best selling point, but it was wrong. The chimaki was so delicious that it made me numb. It was so delicious (lol). Finally, we ate the homemade pudding, drank the awamori, and reminisced about all the memories that had piled up, and the farewell party came to a close. However, it wasn't a loud and lively farewell party for grown-ups, but rather a more mature one. In that case, a hidden restaurant like this is the best! It was my first visit in several years, and it's a great place! Thank you for the delicious food and the fun time!!
