2024春の八重山諸島の旅で
波照間島にやって来た旅浪漫であります。
波照間島二日目の夜。 今夜も呑みます。
事前予約して向かったのが、居酒屋バンブー。
近くに波照間製糖工場があり、
居酒屋バンブーはサトウキビの収穫時期は
製糖工場の作業員の宿舎になっているようです。
電話番号の表示もそのようになっています。
場所は集落からやや離れていて、
旅客ターミナルやニシ浜に近い場所にあります。
まだ明るい午後7時の初訪問。
一見したところ居酒屋という感じではありません。
広い庭があり、駐車場とテラス席があります。
そこ向こうに建物があり、
ドアを開けるとワンフロアの座敷席。
名前と予約していることを告げると
「こちらです」と案内されたのが、宿舎の一室。
八畳の和室でテーブルが3つ置かれています。
先客は家族連れがそれぞれ2組。
幼児を連れた若夫婦と
中学生らしき二人を連れた夫婦。
その横にテーブルがあり、そちらで呑むようです。
呼び出しブザーは1つ。
部屋の真ん中に置かれています。
まあ、目の前にテレビがあるので
それだけでもマシかな。 エアコンも効いているし。

まずは生ビールと本日の刺身をオーダー。
お通しはありません。
持ってきてくれたのは外国人の男性。
三種盛りの刺身の名前を聞きたかったんですが。
別のテーブルに料理を持ってきた
日本人の女性スタッフに聞いてみました。
マグロ、セイイカ、シイラの三種。
昨夜行った味〇の刺身の内容と似ていますね。
今夜ももちろん泡波をいきます。
3合瓶と水割りセットをお願いしました。
グラスは泡波ではなく八重泉でした。
メンマ、チャーシュー、煮玉子という
まるでラーメンの具材のおつまみ三種盛りを注文。
メニューにいろんなラーメンもあるので
そのメンマ、チャーシュー、煮玉子もまあ旨い。
次に島豆腐の麻婆豆腐を辛口でオーダー。
これはボリューム的にイマイチ。
〆にラーメンを食べようと思いましたが
煮玉子が品切れしたというので、
小ライスをもらってミニ麻婆丼してごちそうさん。
会計してもらいましたが、
メニューはすべて税抜き表示のようです。
今夜もしっかり泡波3合瓶は綺麗に空けました。
酔うた勢いで外国人男性スタッフに話しかけると
オーストラリアから来たジョナン君というそう。
波照間島に住んでいるのではなく、
これから日本じゅうを旅行するようです。
一期一会、お元気でいい旅をしてください。
居酒屋バンブーさんは無料送迎サービスも
あるんですが、お客さん二人から。
使った金額が多くても少なくても二人からだそうです。
「同じ方に行く人がいれば送る」と言われましたが
いつまで待つのか、待って送ってくれるのかは不明。
真っ暗な道をスマホのライトを点けて
ふらふら20分かけて集落の民宿まで帰りました。
帰り道を覚えていないと危ないです。
docomoですが、ほぼ圏外で通話も出来ない状況。
もし行かれるおひとり様は気を付けてください。
