2023年2月某日の15時過ぎに訪ねた。
阪急線の大阪梅田駅を改札を出てすぐの場所にあるそば・うどんの店「若菜そば 阪急茶屋町口店」。
それほど広くない店内には先客3名ほど。この日は早めに昼食を食べたので、夕食までの小腹を満たすべく利用。
食券機で「わかめそば」¥370を選択する。
注文カウンターの食券を提示して、2分ほど待って料理を受け取る。
カウンター席に1人で座り、たっぷりのわかめとネギが乗ったそばを食べる。
関東風の醤油味が強いつゆとは異なる、ダシの効いた優しい味わいのつゆ。そこに柔らかめの蕎麦が入っていると大阪らしさを感じる。
わかめは特別なものではないが、それが良い。至って普通のわかめとネギで関西風のそばを楽しむ。
卓上の天かすはセルフで入れ放題。程好い量を投入して七味唐辛子を振りかける。刺激とコクを加えて食べるわかめそばもまた良し。
小腹を満たすにはちょうど良いボリュームのわかめそばを満喫する。具と麺を食べ終えた後はつゆをしみじみと味わう。大阪に来たことを実感するつゆの味。
それにしても値段の安さに驚かされる。駅の改札を出てすぐに400円でお釣りの来るそば・うどんを提供してくれる存在に感謝をして店を出た。
